Courses Taught
Spring 2026 FST 398: Storytelling for the Camera Instructor of Record, University of North Carolina at Wilmington Designed and taught an in-person undergraduate course examining the relationship between theory and cinematographic practice. Students were taught to examine choices in cinematography by shooting the same scene every week using different techniques and then giving short presentations of how the mood, emotion, and meaning changed with the difference in shooting style and equipment.
Spring 2025 FST 318: Introduction to Screenwriting Instructor of Record, University of North Carolina at Wilmington Designed and taught an in-person undergraduate course in which students learned the basics of screenwriting with an emphasis on the short film. Organized lectures and mediated an intensive workshop schedule.
Fall 2024 FST 318: Introduction to Screenwriting Graduate Teaching Assistant, University of North Carolina at Wilmington Assisted senior faculty by running lectures, workshops, and grading scripts and exercises for two sections of undergraduate students.
Fall ’23/Spring’ 24 FST 201: Introduction to Production Graduate Teaching Assistant, University of North Carolina at Wilmington Held lectures and workshops for undergraduate students based on pre-designed course, instructing them in the basics of film production from idea to finished edit. Managed grades and administered all exams and assignments.
Workshops, Series, and Guest Lectures
Fall 2025 FST 500: Introduction to Production for Graduate Students Workshop Lead Designed and executed weekly workshops for incoming graduate students. Familiarized students with equipment in accordance with class schedule. Taught camera, lighting, and editing basics. Provided feedback on in-class assignments.
October 2025 Guest Lecture: Lighting Basics Guest Lecturer, FST 500: Professor David Monahan Designed and taught guest lecture for incoming graduate student classes around introductory lighting techniques. Explained differences between traditional tungsten lighting and Aperture LEDs, and held in-class exercise for students.
April 2025 Workshop: Gimbal Techniques Guest Lecturer, FST 398: Instructor Jessica Vitkin Designed presentation and lecture, instructed students on the basics of Ronin RSII and RSC gimbals.
Summer 2022-23 Screen to Screen Teen Film Education Workshop Series Lead Instructor, High Point Public Library Designed, pitched, and executed seven week summer film educational program for teens. Students were brought from the idea and development stage through production to post-production all using smartphones and DIY techniques. Weekly classes and workshops were held, culminating in a small film festival at the end of each course.
October 2019 Introduction to Digital Photography Workshop Lead Instructor, Hickory Public Library Designed and taught workshop of DSLR photography basics at the Hickory Public Library, as appointed by the library manager. Held lecture for participants and then hosted a photo walk to put techniques into practice.

2024 To Breathe Life into Dust . Run time 7:00. Documentary short examining anxieties around generative AI and its ability to regulate human emotion.
2024 Happy With You. Run Time 9:20. Narrative short performed entirely in American Sign Language. Two women meet at a motel to celebrate their relationship, but when one betrays the other she begins to question whether her partner ever existed. Official Selection All In Film Festival
